GERRY LOPEZ Long Haul Surfboard 8FT

The Gerry Lopez Long Haul surfboard in the True Ride Tech is a fantastic all-round board that will suit a wide range of surfing abilities and wave types and sizes. Gerry Lopez has added this cracking longboard template to his range after much demand and it surfs beautifully.

The Lopez Long Haul has a wide square tail and a full nose which gives plenty of planning surface and room to cruise. The square tail works as a release point allowing the board to pivot for quicker turns but you will be riding the other end of the Long Haul most of the time. The wide nose shape makes nose riding as easy as it can be, and the board is super stable in this single fin set up, as your walk the board it feels rock solid underfoot. That square tail is pulled in just enough to allow you to get the board turning but it keeps enough volume back there to maximise flow and glide. The Long Haul in this classic template is great fun. A longboard like this will work as a small wave option for someone who usually surfs shorter boards or a one board quiver for a seasoned logger, its wave range is knee high and up, the top end only limited by your ability.

The Long Haul is equipped with a universal single fin box set-up, size the fin to the length of board, style wise something with a thinned out tip like the FCS II Whip will work well as an all round fin.

Gerry played a huge part in the shortboard revolution of the late 1960's and early 1970's, charging his home breaks in Hawaii and blazing the trail to the now legendary spots of G-Land, the islands off Sumatra and Bali. Gerry's Surftech surfboards are built using Surftech's True Ride Fusion Poly technology, a traditional construction with a polyurethane core with polyester resin which is then glossed and polished. This construction produces a beautiful looking surfboard which surfs as well as it looks.
